The Datapaq® furnace heat treatment profiling system is assembled from a selection of data loggers, protective thermal barriers and thermocouples, and completed with Insight™ thermal profiling software.

Temperature Profiling Software

Furnace Insight Software for Furnace Tracker® starts in wizard mode and guides the user through the basic setup of a furnace profile – basic analysis and operation for line operators and advanced analysis and password protection for the advanced user and engineers.   • Set up process files with furnace, product and recipe information with the help of a wizard; these details are saved and can be modified at any time
  • Set up your own “alarm” system to alert you when a process is out of specification
  • Open multiple Paqfiles and instantly compare data from one run to another
  • Analysis tabs run along the bottom of the screen to facilitate the following functions: max/min, time at temperature, rise/fall, slopes, peak difference, temperature uniformity survey, view data and alarms
  • Available in 14 languages, including translated help text

Furnace Insight Basic Software offers reduced functionality of Insight software, compared to the full Datapaq Insight version, and is ideal for users where application requirements can be satisfied with basic analysis. Temperature Data Loggers

The Datapaq TP3 Data Logger provides high accuracy for the most demanding applications, a choice of 10 or 20 channel loggers and can be used with TM21 (RF) Radio Telemetry or hard-wired for data acquisition in real-time process monitoring. Features include:

  • Temperature range: −100°C to 1370°C/-148°F to 2498°F
  • Sample interval: 0.1 sec – 50 min without telemetry; 1 sec – 50 min with RF telemetry
  • Memory: 3.2 million data points for 10 Channel; 3.6 million data points for 20 Channel
  • Robust stainless steel machined case
  • High logger accuracy: ±0.3°C (±0.5°F) for compliance with tight specifications

The Datapaq Q18 Data Logger is designed using the latest miniaturized electronic packaging technology and combines speed of readings and superb accuracy in one versatile unit. Additional features include:

  • Temperature range: -200°C to 1370°C/-328°F to 2498°F
  • Sample interval:  0.05 seconds to 10 minutes
  • Memory: 18,000 readings per channel

Thermal Barriers

The TB4000 Series Thermal Barriers work in two stages to keep the logger at a safe working temperature as they travel through the process. Microporous insulation slows down the passage of heat. The second insulation stage features a unique heat sink with phase-change material that maintains an internal temperature of 58°C/136°F. Key features include:

  • Operating temperature up to 850°C/1560°F
  • Rugged 304 stainless steel construction
  • Microporous insulation provides the best thermal protection of any known material
  • Various heights available to meet limited clearances
  • Wear strips minimize maintenance costs
  • Environmentally preferred mullite textile barrier lining
  • Optional stand to avoid distortion, i.e. due to differential thermal contraction, if a hot barrier is placed on a cold floor

The TB4900 Series Thermal Barriers are made entirely of high quality 310 stainless steel and feature Datapaq Floating Plate® technology. These long lasting barriers resist oxidation and distortion better than ever before and are ideal for applications, such as annealing, aluminum or stainless steel brazing, frit sealing and annealing, and steel heat treatment processes. Key features include:

  • Operating temperature up to 1000°C/1832°F
  • One way lid and base alignment avoids thermocouple damage
  • User replaceable and mullite textile wear strips minimize maintenance costs
  • Rounded edges on barrier lid and base alleviate effects of thermal stress
  • Environmentally safe mullite textile barrier lining
  • Optional stand to avoid distortion, i.e. due to differential thermal contraction, if a hot barrier is placed on a cold floor

Thermocouples

Thermocouple probes, an essential part of furnace heat treatment product profiling, are placed at critical points on the product to give a clear profile of the temperature throughout the process.
